Genre Analysis

For Project 2 I have completely changed my idea from my Preliminary ideas blog but am still using the same format. I will be writing a blog entitled "ILSTU PROBLEMS". This idea aspired from a twitter account with the same name. On this page, people post tweets about the different problems they encounter at ISU. For this blog, I need to consider what things happen at Illinois State that are humorous but also pose a problem. My first idea for the blog was to write about the squirrels on campus. It is obvious that there ate squirrels all over ISU's quad and campus. The squirrels are unlike most squirrels we are used to because they are much bigger in size and are not typically afraid of people. It is humorous because this is behavior we are not used to as well as a size we don't expect. The reason it can be considered a "problem" is because they basically take over the campus. Other things to consider are how I need to set up the format of this blog. I will include pictures, which sometimes are easier to use in expressing humor, as well as comments on the blog and possibly even the tweets from the twitter page themselves. I need to consider, first, what situations and factors are humorous to students. Then, I need to consider what format can be used to best express the situation to get the most humor out of it. I am excited for this blog and think it will be very fun to find funny quirks about the school and campus that can bring together the student body in a harmless, humorous manner.
